The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office Posse was established in 2002 by a
dedicated group of civilian volunteers who support the Sheriff’s Office through mounted equestrian services. Posse members participate in a wide range of community outreach and operational activities, including:
- Equestrian education and demonstrations
- Parades and public events
- Community shows and presentations
- Search and Rescue support
- Mounted patrol at large events such as the Yolo County Fair and the Almond Festival
The Posse plays an important role in enhancing community engagement while providing specialized support during missions and events that benefit from mounted personnel.
