Manuals & Policies
Effective January 1, 2020, Senate Bill 978 (SB 978) requires all local law enforcement agencies and the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) to post on their websites all current standards, policies, procedures, and training materials that would otherwise be available through a California Public Records Act (CPRA) request.
By making this information available online, the Sheriff’s Office aims to keep the public informed about our policies and practices, strengthen communication and community trust, and promote transparency. This approach also helps reduce the time and cost of responding to individual CPRA requests.
The materials posted on this site are updated regularly as we review and modernize our manuals and best practices. In some cases, certain details may be redacted to protect sensitive procedures, tactical information, or personal privacy — always with the safety of Sheriff’s personnel and the public in mind.
