The Sheriff may issue a concealed weapons license to law-abiding residents of Yolo County who are not prohibited from possessing, owning, or purchasing a firearm capable of being concealed upon his or her person, and comply with the provision of Penal Code Section §26150(a).
In accordance to PC §26150(a), and subject to department procedures, residents of Yolo County may submit an application.
However, persons residing in a municipality are strongly encouraged to first contact their local Police Chief and apply for a license with that agency.
Overview of requirements to obtain a new or
renew a CCW Permit in YOLO County:
- Valid California driver’s license, or state-issued ID, which has your current address in Yolo County.
- Provide “Proof of residency” Two (2) Consecutive statements showing your current address in Yolo County (i.e. Utility bill, Telephone Bill, Cable/Satellite, Home Internet (TAX Statements, Mortgage Account Statements will NOT be accepted).
- Firearms listed on your Concealed Carry Weapon license MUST be registered to you.
- 16 hours of Firearms Training
