Custody FAQ

You may call 530-668-5245 and ask if someone is in custody

You may obtain whether or not someone is in custody, charges, bail, court date, arresting agency, when arrested, visiting hours, where he is currently housed, tentative release date, any holds placed by other agencies.

If you have a court-ordered report to jail date, enter the 24 Hour Lobby on the scheduled date by 9:00 am to turn yourself in. Officers will provide instructions and escort you inside for processing.

Yes. Inmates may authorize the release of property to a friend or family member.
To arrange a pickup:

• The inmate’s representative must call the Property Officer at (530) 668-5245 to schedule an appointment.

The representative must present valid identification at the time of pickup

Notary Public services are available by appointment only.

Steps to request notary services:

1. The inmate must send a blue card request to the Commissary/Programs Officer.
2. All paperwork must be completed before the appointment.
3. The inmate must inform the notary of the type of notarization needed (e.g., acknowledgment, jurat, etc.).

Important Notes:

• The notary cannot provide legal advice or assist with completing forms.
• The inmate must obtain any required documents before the appointment.

Fee: $15.00 per notarization, to be paid before signing.
