In-Custody Programs

Yolo County Sheriff’s Office Programs

Supporting Successful Reentry Through Education, Treatment, and Rehabilitation

The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office is committed to providing programs that support personal growth, education, and rehabilitation for those in our custody. Through the Detention Division, inmates are assessed to determine individual needs and eligibility for in-custody programs designed to promote a successful transition back into the community.

A key goal of the Detention Division is to ensure that every inmate has the opportunity to leave custody with more skills, education, and resources than they had before booking. By leveraging grant funding, the Inmate Welfare Fund, volunteer services, and partnerships with local community organizations, the Sheriff’s Office strives to provide inmates with a meaningful head start toward positive reentry.

Participation in all in-custody programs is voluntary and based on a referral process. Programs are offered both individually and in group settings, either in person or via teleconference, depending on inmate classification, staffing levels, and classroom availability.
