Investigations
The Investigations Section is part of the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office Field
Operations/Patrol Division and is comprised of Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators. Together, they work to solve crimes, support victims, and hold offenders accountable.
Detectives
Detectives investigate a wide range of felony crimes, including:
- Homicide
- Sexual assaults
- Child and elder abuse
- Burglaries and thefts
- Assaults
- Arson
- Identity theft and financial crimes
The Sheriff’s Office also assigns detectives to regional and federal task forces, including:
- FBI Safe Streets Task Force
- Yolo County Gang Task Force
- Cannabis Enforcement
- Agricultural Crime Task Force
These collaborations help reduce criminal activity throughout Yolo County and neighboring regions.

If you have additional information about a case that has already been reported, please contact the Investigations Section. Be ready to provide:
- Your name
- The victim’s name (if applicable)
- The original report or case number (if known)
- The new information you wish to share
